Difference Between Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 Vs NS-TSC10

The main difference between the Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 and NS-TSC10 models is the cake sitting option, color, and control panel position. The Zojirushi NS-TSC10 comes with a cake setting in a Stainless Brown shade while the NS-TSC10 comes in a premium white shade without a cake setting. All other features of both rice cookers are the same, so let’s explore them in our kitchen one by one.

Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 Vs NS-TSC10: Our Observation

Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 and NS-TSC10 are two premium quality multifunctional rice cookers and steamer capable enough to cater to all of your rice cravings. While comparing the two models, here is what we observed.

Appearance & Design – First Impression

Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 Vs NS-TSC10 are two of the most sought-after rice cookers on the market with tons of features and functions. When we first received both models, it was love at first sight with Zojirushi NS-ZCC10. Upon unpacking and holding the Zojirushi rice cooker in my hands, it gave off this premium feel that you hardly find in a 50$ cheap plasticky rice cooker.

In terms of dimensions, Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 measures 13×8.13×10.13 Inches and it weighs 7 pounds while Zojirushi NS-TSC10 measures 14×10.1×8.5 Inches to be precise and weighs. Looking at the two models’ side by side, we barely noticed any difference in dimensions but Zojirushi NS-TSC10 does feel heavy when we unpacked it.

Although Zojirushi NS-TSC10 stainless brown exterior looks appealing but NS-ZCC10 rice cooker’s premium white has no parallel and it shines bright on the countertop.  In short, we liked Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 better than NS-TSC10 and you may choose otherwise in accordance to the kitchen theme.

Another great feature that we noticed is the spherical nonstick coated inner cooking pot which ensures smooth and even heat distribution for perfect cooking results. Yup! It’s dishwasher safe too.

Versatility

What can you cook and how much can you cook? Both models feature 5.5 cup (Uncooked) capacity which means you will get 10 cups or cooked rice, enough for a family of 5-6 members.

There is a difference in terms of what you can do with either of the two rice cookers. Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 lets you prepare a wide variety of meals with its white, mixed, porridge, sweet, semi-brown, brown, rinse-free and quick cook setting. While preparing white rice we could choose between regular or sushi rice and also how we want our rice to be; softer of harder.

Zojirushi NS-TSC10 on the other hand feature a cooking menu including white/sushi, mixed, porridge, sweet, brown, cake, steam and a quick-cooking setting to fix a quick bowl of rice. The additional feature is Cake so if you are into baking cakes at home, Zojirushi NS-TSC10 would be a lot of help.

Control Panel

The placement of controls is slightly different in both rice cookers. Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 has its controls on front while Zojirushi NS-TSC10 has it on the top which is more intuitive and easier to access. We also noticed that the display is brighter in Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 in comparison to NS-TSC10. However, the buttons are soft and responsive and you don’t have to press them with full force or again and again.

Micro-Computerized Advanced Fuzzy Logic

Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 and NS-TSC10 are equipped with MICOM fuzzy logic technology. It’s a micro computerized chip incorporated in the rice cooker that has the capability to make minor changes in cooking time and temperature to get the best results and that’s what we observed while testing the two rice cookers. We tried 1 cup white rice in both rice cookers and the results were amazing: perfectly cooked fluffy rice.

We also tried a cup of brown rice and it came out delicious and aromatic without undercooking or overcooking. We expected the rice cookers to perform well since they cost a good fortune however we were quite surprised with the restaurant-quality rice that are just a push of the button away.

Additional Features

Apart from great cooking performance, the rice cookers have a multitude of useful features to make cooking easy as ABC. Keep warm and delay timer are two features that we use extensively in our household because we all eat at different time. I already have a Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 and it keeps our rice warm since my husband comes home from a hectic day.

At one of those busy days, I can make use of handy delay timer feature which allows me to schedule the cooking cycle and forget about it. When you need to keep your meals warm for extended hours, it does have an extended keep warm feature. Got leftovers from yesterday? Just throw the rice in the pot, and reheat in a jiffy. Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 and NS-TSC10 are the ultimate cooking machine to cook a wide range of dishes.

Furthermore, with included steamer basket, we could steam veggies, chicken, or our favorite seafood while the rice cooks below. It’s a useful feature especially when we have to get the dinner on the table quickly.

Accessories

We got the following accessories with Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 in the package:

  • Spatula
  • Spatula holder
  • 2 measuring cups (Regular & Rinse-Free)

With Zojirushi NS-TSC10 we got a measuring cup, spatula and a spatula holder.

Cleanup

The nonstick cooking pot, inner lid, rice measuring cup and spatula are all dishwasher safe. The Nonstick coated inner pot prevents the rice from sticking hence making the cleaning a breeze. Although the accessories are dishwasher safe, I hardly wash my rice cooker in the dishwasher instead I prefer to handwash my pots and pans unless I am too busy to do that.

Washing nonstick pots and pans manually extend the shelf life of the coating and pot itself. I don’t want the coating to peel off.

Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 Vs NS-TSC10 Rice Cooker: Winner?

Its hard to choose between Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 vs NS-TSC10 for more than one reason. Both have an equal cooking capacity of 5.5 cups (Uncooked), the same cooking menu except for cake setting in Zojirushi NS-TSC10, and almost identical controls, and construction.

If you consider price to be the deciding factor, both have similar price tags so you don’t save much while choosing one over the other. Both models are dishwasher safe hence cleaning either of the two will not be a biggie.

It all comes down to your personal preferences about control placement, color and design. We preferred premium white Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 for it matched real good with our kitchen counter and blended right in with other kitchen appliances. What would you choose and why?
