Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus Vs Supreme Comparison

Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus Bread Maker and Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Home Bakery Supreme are two flagship bread makers by Zojirushi equipped with the latest baking technology to make baking an easy and straightforward task. Here is a quick breakdown of what we found in terms of differences and similarities between Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus vs Supreme.

Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus Vs Supreme: Key Differences

Virtuoso Plus is the upgraded version of Virtuoso. This is the main difference between the Zojirushi Virtuoso and Virtuoso Plus.

Appearance & Design

Zojirushi is known for its latest technologies and innovative designs which is one of the core selling points of its kitchen appliances. I already own a Zojirushi NS-ZCC10 rice cooker which I immediately fell in love with when I first discovered it back in 2016. So, my expectations of Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus and Supreme bread makers were high and they didn’t disappoint in terms of sturdy construction and intuitive and functional design. Made out of heavy-duty plastic material it got a nice feel to it.

Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus and Supreme feature boxy design with a viewing window on the top and nicely arranged controls on the right-hand side. What we liked the most is the viewing window on the top to view baking progress while its baking.

The bottom has nice four rubber feet to make sure the machines don’t move around while it’s kneading the dough. We could hardly spot any differences while looking at the machines side by side except for the controls panel design.

The Zojirushi Virtuoso plus has flat lid and control panel whereas Zojirushi Supreme features slightly angled control panel and viewing window.

Dimensions and Weight

When viewed side by side, we felt a clear difference in the size and dimension of the bread makers however the outer dimensions don’t impact the size of loaf you can bake. Zojirushi Virtuoso plus measures 10.5x18x12.88 Inches whereas Zojirushi supreme measures 12.81×13.56×18.88 Inches which as we said is clearly a bigger model and would take more of your counter space.

At 24 and 22 pounds respectively the two machines feel heavy while lifting and moving around so I have a dedicated spot for the bread maker because I run out of bread every day so I bake more. In case you have space issues, you’d probably want to go for a smaller model.

Heating Element

Most bread makers in the market feature single heating element in the bottom right underneath the bread pan and same is the case with Zojirushi Supreme which features single heating element.

However, Zojirushi Virtuoso Plus comes with two heating elements; one at the bottom and one in the lid for perfect and even heating to get you the perfect loaf of bread every time you turn your Zojirushi bread maker on.

Programs and Setting

Zojirushi bread makers are equipped with a range of settings to bake a variety of breads and treats to cater to all your baking needs. The number of settings each model has to offer is different from one another.

Zojirushi BB-PDC20BA Home Bakery Virtuoso Plus Bread Maker comes with 15 settings to choose from which are:

  • White
  • Whole Wheat
  • European
  • Multigrain
  • Gluten Free
  • Salt Free
  • Sugar Free
  • Vegan
  • Rapid White
  • Rapid Whole Wheat
  • Dough
  • Sourdough Starter
  • Cake
  • Jam
  • Home Made (3 Memory slots to Save customized settings)

In contrary to Virtuoso plus, Zojirushi BB-CEC20 Home Bakery Supreme comes with 10 baking options to go with which are:

  • Basic White
  • Basic Wheat
  • Basic Dough
  • Quick White
  • Quick Wheat
  • Quick Dough
  • Jam
  • Cake
  • Sour Dough Starter
  • Home Made (3 Memory slots to Save customized settings)

Clearly Zojirushi Supreme doesn’t share European, gluten free, salt free and vegan courses so if you think you’ll be using these features, Zojirushi Virtuoso plus is the machine for you.

Accessories

Accessories are essentials that help you out throughout the entire cooking process. The Zojirushi Virtuoso plus comes with multiple handy accessories that you will find inside the package. It has a 50 recipes cookbook where you can your inspiration from and experiments with different and variety of baking methods. Further, you will get a measuring cup for liquids, a nested measuring cup to measure dry ingredients, and a spoon for salt and other ingredients.

On the contrary, the Zojirushi supreme bread maker comes with a recipe booklet, measuring cup, and a spoon. Further, it has an instructional DVD that virtuoso plus doesn’t have. Thus, the virtuoso plus is the winner yet again!

Baking Capacity

The Virtuoso Plus and Zojirushi Home bakery Supreme both have baking capacity of two-pound bread loaf. A 2 pound loaf is enough to make 16 slices of bread, 8 sandwiches, or two large 11” pizzas. The capacity is more than enough to feed a medium size family unless a single person can eat 8 sandwiches.

Most bread makers in the market come with single kneading blade however, both Zojirushi bread makers are equipped with dual kneading blades for thorough mixing and smooth results. Also, the bread pans are non-stick which further eases the cleaning process.

Besides the preprogrammed course settings of both the machines, you can create your own bread settings with customized knead, rise, and bake timings. The machines allow you to store up to 3 different settings to use later whenever required. And you only have to store the settings once.

Viewing Window

Both the bread-making machines have a large viewing window that allows you to see and keep a track of the cooking cycle. You can see from kneading, rising to baking and its fun watching how the bread is made. Especially if you have young kids at home, they are going to love this feature as kids love watching things being made.

Both the machines feature an extremely useful delay timer feature. It lets you program your baking schedule 13 hours ahead of when you precisely need the bread. The feature lets you feast on fresh, hot, homemade bread in the morning without lifting a finger.
